Travel
My passion is traveling. I love to discover and get to know new cultures. I would like to travel the whole world, because the whole world fascinates me. But especially the Orient has cast me under its spell. The beautiful architecture, the fascinating calligraphy, the lively bazaars, the hospitality of the people and much more.
Eat
My second passion is all about food. Not only try and enjoy treats from around the world (I have tasted, among others, Sudanese, Ghanaian, Iraqi, Tajik and Afghan dishes). If I can not physically travel around the world, at least culinary! ;) So I'm always to be found at food festivals.
Languages
My third passion is languages. For me languages are a bridge between two worlds / cultures and already a "good day" or "thank you" in the local language conjure a smile on the face of the opposite. Exactly for this smile I think the effort is worthwhile. I speak German, English, French and Italian fluently. I understand Spanish well, my speaking less. During my 2 stays in Uzbekistan I also learned Uzbek. (It still takes a lot of effort.) In Serbian and Turkish I know travel basics and can e.g. order a coffee / food. (I also speak the Turkish soap vocabulary.;) Among others, I watched "Muhteşem Yüzyıl", "Kara Sevda" and "Kurt Seyit ve Şura". And "Diriliş: Ertuğrul" in Uzbek.) I have basic knowledge of Russian and Arabic.
The idea for the blog
Again and again I realized how unknown Uzbekistan and Central Asia are. With my blog I want to fill this information gap and share my personal impressions and experiences with you. I spent almost one year in Uzbekistan and learned a lot about the country and its people. In autumn 2018, I was also in Kyrgyzstan for two weeks. I hope I will visit the rest of Stans soon ...

Reisen
Meine grosse Leidenschaft ist das Reisen. Ich liebe es neue Kulturen zu entdecken und kennenzulernen. Am liebsten würde ich die ganze Welt bereisen, denn die ganze Welt fasziniert mich. Doch vor allem der Orient hat mich in seinen Bann gezogen. Die wunderschöne Architektur, die faszinierende Kalligraphie, die quirligen Bazare, die Gastfreundschaft der Menschen und noch vieles mehr.
Essen
Meine zweite Leidenschaft ist alles rund ums Essen. Nicht nur das ausprobieren und geniessen von Leckereien aus der ganzen Welt (ich habe unter anderem sudanesische, ghanaische, irakische, tadschikische und afghanische Gerichte gekostet). Wenn ich schon nicht physisch um die Welt reisen kann, dann wenigstens kulinarisch! ;) Ich bin also immer wieder an Food Festivals anzutreffen.
Sprachen
Meine dritte Leidenschaft sind Sprachen. Für mich sind Sprachen eine Brücke zwischen zwei Welten/Kulturen und bereits ein "Guten Tag" oder "Danke" in der Landessprache zaubern ein Lächeln auf das Gesicht des Gegenübers. Genau für dieses Lächeln lohnt sich meines Erachtens der Aufwand. Ich spreche Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch und Italienisch fliessend. Spanisch verstehe ich gut, beim sprechen hapert's etwas. Während meinen beiden Aufenthalten in Usbekistan habe ich auch Usbekisch gelernt. Auf Serbisch und Türkisch kann ich Travelbasics und kann mir beispielsweise einen Kaffee/Essen bestellen. (Ausserdem beherrsche ich den türkischen Serien-Wortschatz. ;) Unteranderem habe ich "Muhteşem Yüzyıl", "Kara Sevda"und "Kurt Seyit ve Şura" geschaut. Und "Diriliş: Ertuğrul" auf Usbekisch.) Ich habe Grundkenntnisse in Russisch und Arabisch.
Die Idee zum Blog:
Ich stellte immer wieder fest wie unbekannt Usbekistan und Zentralasien allgemein sind. Mit meinen Blog möchte ich diese Informationslücke füllen und meine persönlichen Eindrücke und Erlebnisse mit euch teilen. Ich habe beinahe ein Jahr in Usbekistan verbracht und einiges über Land und Leute gelernt. Im Herbst 2018 war ich zudem für 2 Wochen in Kirgistan. Ein Besuch der restlichen Stans erfolgt hoffentlich bald...

About the name "sariq qiz"
"Sariq qiz" is Uzbek. "Sariq" means "yellow" and "qiz" means "girl". "Sariq qiz" means yellow, respectively blonde girl. I absolutely wanted a name in Uzbek language, but which has something to do with me. At some point I spontaneously had the idea to call my blog "sariq qiz".
